Three Sisters, Blue Mountains: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

 

The Three Sisters are a trio of sandstone pillars rising from the Jamison Valley in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, visible from Echo Point lookout near the town of Katoomba, roughly 100 kilometers west of Sydney. The pillars stand at 922, 918, and 906 meters respectively, their reddish hue deepening at sunset. Aboriginal Dreamtime legend attributes their formation to three sisters turned to stone by a tribal elder to protect them from a bunyip.
