Slender West Lake, Yangzhou: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby
Slender West Lake is a narrow, winding waterway stretching about 4.3 kilometers through the northwestern outskirts of Yangzhou in Jiangsu province. The lake was landscaped in the 18th century by salt merchants competing to build the most elaborate garden pavilions along its banks, resulting in a dense sequence of arched bridges, island pagodas, and lakeside teahouses. The Five Pavilion Bridge, built in 1757 with 15 arches topped by five yellow-roofed pavilions, is the signature structure. The park is open daily and admission costs about 100 yuan during peak season. When in Yangzhou it's worth considering not only but another main attraction like Yangzhou Dongguan Street.
