Garmisch-Classic Ski Area, Garmisch-Partenkirchen: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

 

Garmisch-Classic Ski Area covers 40 kilometers of groomed runs on the Hausberg, Kreuzeck, and Alpspitze peaks above Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps. The terrain ranges from 700 meters at the base to 2,050 meters at the Osterfelderkopf station, serving mostly intermediate and advanced skiers. The Kandahar downhill course, used for World Cup races since 1954, is the area's signature run. In summer, the same lifts access alpine hiking trails and the AlpspiX viewing platform, a pair of cantilevered steel walkways extending 13 meters over a 1,000-meter drop.
