Okinawa Blue Cave, Onna-son: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

Okinawa Blue Cave sits along the rocky coastline of the Cape Maeda peninsula on Onna village's western shore, roughly 90 minutes by car north of Naha. The cave's distinctive blue glow comes from sunlight refracting through the cave mouth and reflecting off the white sand bottom, conditions that are strongest from late morning through early afternoon. Snorkeling and scuba diving trips from nearby shops typically cost around 3,500 to 8,000 yen depending on inclusions. The cave is reached either by swimming from Maeda Point or via short boat rides from Cape Maeda. When in Onna-son it's worth considering not only but another main attraction like Ryukyu Mura.
