Ouzoud Falls (Cascades d’Ouzoud), Ouzoud: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

Ouzoud Falls drop roughly 110 meters in a series of cascades into a red-rock gorge in the Middle Atlas Mountains, about 150 kilometers northeast of Marrakech. The falls are the highest in North Africa and are fed by the Oued el-Abid river, which flows year-round though volume peaks in spring. A trail descends to the plunge pool at the base, where small boats offer short rides through the spray. Barbary macaques live in the olive and carob trees along the canyon rim, and several cafe terraces are positioned at the lip with direct views of the main cascade. When in Ouzoud it's worth considering not only but another main attraction like Ouzoud Waterfalls (Cascades d’Ouzoud).
