Kaikōura Peninsula Walkway, Kaikoura: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

The Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway loops 11.7 kilometers around the peninsula at the eastern edge of Kaikoura on New Zealand's South Island, combining limestone clifftop paths with rocky beach sections at low tide. The track passes haul-out sites where New Zealand fur seals rest on rocks year-round and provides regular sightings of red-billed gulls and southern royal albatross offshore. Walking the full loop typically takes 3 to 4 hours. The clifftop section connects directly to South Bay and the whale-watching pier on Kaikoura's eastern shore.
