Knysna Heads, Knysna: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

Knysna Heads are two massive sandstone cliffs flanking the narrow entrance to the Knysna Lagoon on South Africa's Garden Route, midway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. The eastern head rises about 100 meters and is accessible via a paved road to viewpoints overlooking the channel, where tidal currents make the passage one of the most dangerous harbor entrances in the country. The western head includes the Featherbed Nature Reserve, reachable by ferry and guided walk. The lagoon covers about 18 square kilometers and supports a commercial oyster farming industry. When in Knysna it's worth considering not only but another main attraction like Tsitsikamma National Park.
