Gangnam, Seoul: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

 

Gangnam is a district south of the Han River in Seoul, covering roughly 40 square kilometers with a resident population of about 530,000. The COEX Mall, one of the largest underground shopping complexes in Asia, sits at the intersection of Teheran-ro and Yeongdong-daero and includes the Starfield Library with its 13-meter-tall open bookshelves. The Bongeunsa Buddhist temple, founded in 794 AD, occupies a wooded compound directly across from COEX. The district's name became globally recognized through Psy's 2012 single "Gangnam Style." is just one of many options in Seoul.
