Yehliu Geopark, Taipei: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

 

Yehliu Geopark is a 1.7-kilometer headland extending into the Pacific Ocean on Taiwan's northern coast, 50 kilometers from Taipei, known for its hoodoo rock formations shaped by thousands of years of sea erosion and weathering. The most famous formation, the Queen's Head, resembles the profile of Egypt's Queen Nefertiti and has been narrowing under erosion—its neck now measures only 138 centimeters. The park contains roughly 180 named formations categorized as mushroom rocks, ginger rocks, and candle rocks.
