Wildcat Trail, Monument Valley: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

Wildcat Trail is a 3.2-mile loop hike around West Mitten Butte in Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, the only trail in the park that visitors can walk without a Navajo guide. The flat sandy path circles beneath the butte's 1,000-foot sandstone walls and passes the Twin Buttes and Merrick Butte formations from the lower desert floor. The trail typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours and begins from the visitor center parking lot. Park admission runs around $8 per person, with no additional fee for the trail itself. When in Monument Valley it's worth considering not only but another main attraction like Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
