Cube Houses (Kubuswoningen), Rotterdam: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby
The Cube Houses are a set of 38 tilted cubic dwellings in Rotterdam's Blaak district, designed by architect Piet Blom and completed in 1984. Each house is a cube rotated 45 degrees and tilted onto one vertex, resting on a hexagonal concrete pylon, meant to represent an abstract tree—with the entire complex forming a forest. The interiors are split across three floors with angled walls and triangular windows. One unit, the Kijk-Kubus, operates as a show house open to visitors. The complex sits directly above the Blaak metro station, adjacent to the Markthal. is just one of many options in Rotterdam. Major attractions worth considering include Delfshaven, Erasmusbrug (Erasmus Bridge), and Euromast.
