Delfshaven, Rotterdam: How to Visit and What to Do Nearby

 

Delfshaven is a historic harbor district in western Rotterdam, one of the few areas to survive the 1940 bombing that destroyed much of the city center. The canal-lined quarter dates to the 14th century and retains its cobblestone quays, drawbridges, and brick warehouses. The Pilgrim Fathers Church, a 15th-century building on the quay, is traditionally identified as the church where the Pilgrims held their final service before departing for the New World in 1620 aboard the Speedwell.
